Despite facing the challenge of creating an identity in calligraphy, it has become an incentive for a young graphic designer to uphold the art of calligraphy in the country. Here's the special report on the efforts of a local graphic designer in promoting the beauty of Islamic calligraphy, especially to the younger generation.

An interest in calligraphy since school prompted Awang Mohamad Refqie bin Haji Rosli to delve deeper into the characteristics of calligraphy, especially after being selected to continue his studies abroad in Islamic calligraphy. Awang Mohamad Refqie, who is currently working as a Graphic Designer, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah School of Islamic Arts and Calligraphy, actively shares his experiences and skills in calligraphy through calligraphy workshops. The establishment of the school, he explained, has helped develop Jawi writing as an Islamic cultural heritage. According to him, although calligraphy writing seems easy, it is different from creating an identity.

With continuous training and support from various parties, efforts to promote the art of calligraphy can be achieved towards preserving the national treasure.
